On 21 September 2026, the Centre for Environment and Development for the Arab Region and Europe (CEDARE) is participating in the 28th Meeting of the Climate Technology Centre and Network (CTCN) Advisory Board, taking place in Bonn, Germany, from 18–23 September 2026.
The meeting brings together representatives and stakeholders working to advance climate technology development and transfer, with discussions focusing on key priorities under the UNFCCC Technology Mechanism and preparations for the upcoming COP31 in Antalya, Türkiye.
For the Arab region, these discussions are particularly relevant to the challenge of moving from identifying climate technology needs to practical implementation—including developing viable projects, strengthening institutional capacity, mobilizing finance, demonstrating solutions, and supporting their scale-up.
Key areas being addressed during the meetings include:
- Strengthening climate technology implementation and technology transfer
- Enhancing engagement with National Designated Entities (NDEs)
- Supporting the implementation of the Belém Technology Implementation Programme
- Exploring the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for Climate Action
- Strengthening partnerships and joint work under the Technology Mechanism
- Advancing communication and outreach toward COP31
CEDARE’s participation reflects its commitment to strengthening regional cooperation and practical pathways for climate technology implementation across the Arab region.
Building on its experience in technology assessment, capacity building, knowledge development, demonstration, and field implementation, CEDARE works to connect national priorities, technical expertise, institutional capacity, data, and project pipelines to support the transition from climate technology needs and planning to demonstration, implementation, and scale-up.
Through its engagement in international climate technology processes, CEDARE continues to strengthen opportunities for knowledge exchange, partnerships, and technology-driven climate action across the Arab region.
